Keith Holmes, proprietor of the St. Moritz Grill & Bar, began his restaurant career at age 15, washing dishes at The Place, a fine- dining restaurant in Chicago. He continued working in restaurants throughout high school and college, where he
earned a degree in accounting. Along the way, he learned every position, rising to Executive Chef, before taking his first general manager post at The Bedminster Inn in New Jersey. In 1996, he took his next big step, as a founding partner in creating the award-winning Redwoods Grill and Bar in Chester, NJ.
Acquiring the St. Moritz Grill & Bar in 2012, Keith has brought his lifelong experience, expertise and high standards for quality and hospitality to this long-time Sparta, NJ, landmark at 9 White Deer Plaza on the Village Plaza.
“From the first time my wife, Marcella, and I visited Sparta, we were captivated by the town’s charm and the beauty of the area,” Keith says. “So, when the opportunity to purchase the restaurant came my way, I didn’t hesitate.”

The St. Moritz offers diners a distinctive menu featuring wood-grilled cuisine and classic American and European dishes. Both the restaurant and bar welcome visitors and area residents with friendly service in the elegantly casual atmosphere of a European country inn.
